24. Joseph DURAND ⁽¹⁾ was born in 1836 in St.Ambroise, Quebec. He died in 1915 in Faribault, MN. !INDIVIDUAL GENERAL RESEARCH NOTES:
Emigrated with his brother Nazaire and Sister Eugenie (Durand)
Champagne from St.Gabriel de Brandon in 1867, possibly to homestead land in
Faribault Minnesota. Half-siblings(Children of Elisabeth Vadnais) Pierre,
Felix and Olivia (Durand) Thibodeau also emigrated to Faribault with Louise's
Children.

These relatives all had large families. Most of the Minnesota and Wisconsin
Durands can be traced to these six grandchildren of Joseph Durand (1770-1835)

!INDIVIDUAL GENERAL RESEARCH NOTES:
Joseph and his family lived within a mile of Nazaire andd Leocadie in
Faribault. One of Joseph's grandchildren named, Arthur Durand beame a priest
who was assigned to Faribault, Little Canada and Hazelwood parishes.
Fr.Durand wrote an autobiography which provides information about his family.

family came from St.Gabriel de Brandon Canada, about 70 miles norht of Three
Rivers Canada in 1879 to Faribault Minnesota He was married to Celanise NEVEUX in 1855 in St.Ambroise, Quebec.

One of the siblings in this family may have married an L.Faribault. This
family came from St.Gabriel de Brandon Canada, about 70 miles norht of Three

vi. Marie(Celanise Cordelia) DURAND⁽¹⁾ was born in 1855 in St.Ambroise, PQ.

Family lived on farm with spring water stream, open well, Rose was a sleep
walker. Family noticed that she was filling the water pails while sleep
walking. Family watched and called to her, she awoke and fell to her death

xii. Marie Eugenie DURAND⁽¹⁾ was born in 1864. She died in 1951.
xiii. Marie Celnia DURAND⁽¹⁾ was born in 1867.
xiv. Joseph Azarie DURAND⁽¹⁾ was born in 1869. He died in 1877.
xv. Marie Adele DURAND⁽¹⁾ was born in 1869. She died in 1869.
xvi. Marie Emma DURAND⁽¹⁾ was born in 1872. She died in 1940. !INDIVIDUAL GENERAL RESEARCH NOTES:
Gertrude Lillian reported that Marie Emma married Fred Caron
xvii. Joseph Medric DURAND⁽¹⁾ was born in 1875. He died in 1949. He was buried in At Cavalry Cemetary In Faribault. !INDIVIDUAL GENERAL RESEARCH NOTES:
