<%@LANGUAGE="VBSCRIPT" CODEPAGE="1252"%> Year 3 & 4 Clerkships

(Welcome continued)

The program has two furnished two bedroom apartments where students may stay rent free while on rotation in Duluth. The apartments accommodate about 8 students at a time and students move in and out of the apartments as their rotations begin and end. Housing space is assigned on a first come/first served basis and students need to call the coordinator to reserve space. Being registered in a Duluth rotation is not sufficient. Although each apartment has a fully functional kitchen, meals are also available at the hospital cafeterias and dining rooms at no charge to students when they are working. For more housing information, please refer to Apartment information section

Coordinator, Bonnie Peterson, meeting with Duluth clerkship students.

Students registered for a Duluth Clerkship should email Bonnie (bpeters5@d.umn.edu) 3-4 weeks prior to the course start date for information about the orientation meeting and to make any needed housing arrangements. Books for each rotation will be loaned to students for the duration of their rotation. Preceptor assignments are distributed along with parking permits and passes to local fitness facilities.

All students in Duluth rotations are required to participate in Thursday afternoon sessions at the School of Medicine as scheduled. Here, students gather with the Department of Family Medicine clinical faculty to present cases, share experiences and participate in skills workshops. The workshops are designed to address student’s knowledge and skills either specific to their rotation or to competencies essential for graduation.
