2. Thomas BACIG (1) was born on 17 Feb 1902 in St.Paul, Probably At Home. He died on 19 Nov 1986. He was buried in Calvary Cemetary St.Paul. He was married to Gertrude Lillian DURAND on 9 Jul 1936 in St.Paul Cathederal, St.Paul MN.

3. Gertrude Lillian DURAND (1) was born on 4 Apr 1915 in At Home 917 Vista St. St.Paul Mn area). !INDIVIDUAL GENERAL SOURCE NOTES:
Gertrude feels that her schooling at St.James Grade School was absolutely
essential for her success in life even though she was only able to go the
fourth grade. She felt it trained her memory and helped her with the basics
of math and spelling and reading.

!INDIVIDUAL GENERAL RESEARCH NOTES:
Between the ages of 8-12 Sarah would make the girls inot rag curls and
Gertrude had a Pink/Organdy knee length dress of fancy ruffles that she wore
on special occassions.

!INDIVIDUAL BIRTH SOURCE NOTES:
On her 83 birthday, Gertrude recalled that her mother, Sarah told her that
when she was born her eyes were the same color as her hair, deep brown.

!INDIVIDUAL BIRTH SOURCE NOTES:
She was delivered by Doctor O'Conner, Gertrude was told that the Stork
delivered the baby. When she was 11 years old still believed in the stork and
tells a story of taking her brother and sisters away for an ice cream cone and
when she returned her aunt Cassie invited them into their house to meet their
new sister, Lorraine. Gertrude remembers being upset because she has not seen
the stork. The next year Gertrude and her sister Marie were told by thier
aunt Emma that they would menstrate but they were not told why. About a year
later Leonard Dufresne, a cousin told Marie and Gertrude that baby animals
were in their mother's bellies before they were born. And when ther were in
Cathederal High School in St.Paul they learned about sex from other girls in
school(They were about 15 and 16 by that time).

When Gertrude was born her father was working on the State Capital as a
carpenter, just breaking ground.

!INDIVIDUAL BIRTH SOURCE NOTES:
In 1938 a neighbor, Steve Ihreg, who was carpenter, told Gertrude that he held
her as a baby at her family home when he was visiting Gertrude's father,
Joseph
who taught Mr.Ireg his trade. Mr.Ihreg told Gertrude that he was working with
Joseph on the day she was born and the Joseph left work and went home.

!INDIVIDUAL BIRTH SOURCE NOTES:
Gertrude believes that the family had a Car could have been a Pierce-Arrow, a
Nash, or a Hutmoble, Double seats behind the driver, they used canvas on the
sides to keep out the rain.

Sarah breast fed her children until the next child would come along.

!INDIVIDUAL BIRTH SOURCE NOTES:
Gertrude was given the nickname, "Tootles?" by her Uncle Paul. When he went
to the first world war he would send cards and pictures to her addressed to
Tootles. By the time he came back no one was using the nickname.

!INDIVIDUAL LDS BAPTISM SOURCE NOTES:
Gertrude's godparents were Auri Moloine, father's sister, godfather was George
Begin, the mother's brother. Gertrude was close to Auri and was her flower
girl when Auri married Medore Moloine. Gertrude was baptized in the family
baptismal dress.

!INDIVIDUAL LDS BAPTISM RESEARCH NOTES:
Gertrude and her sister Marie made first communion and were confirmed at
St.Micheals Catholic Church in Stillwater MN. after mother had died. Children were:
