According to the bible God is perfect, but as with everything in life you have to have a flip side to it... enter the devil. I'm not a religious fanatic, but I do have my own beliefs about God. It all depends on what angle you want to take when you ask the question of why God lets bad things happen to good people. If we go from the monks standpoint, the answer is obvious, the devil makes us do it, but if you go from a scientist view, you could say that the planets weren't aligned right or something like that. As for your question of why He gave us faults, we were only made in His image and you know a copy isn't quite as clear as the original.
