How does our government play minority groups against each other? I think our
government has done more than any other government for minorities. Not that i'm
saying the government is great, i think it has a lot of problems, but i don't
think that most minorities today ever encounter prejudice directly in their
lives, and i know most of my friends in minority groups agree with me. In all
honesty i think our government does too much (or maybe just the wrong things)
for minorities. And on the subject of posessions-i don't agree. I think that
if you want to succeed, you have to make it happen yourself(i hate cliches, but
i couldn't think of any other way to put it). It's obvious that welfare (as it
is now) doesn't work. Many people who have been on welfare have been on it for
2 or 3 generations. Maybe you mean something different than how i interpreted
it. But i still don't feel responsible for people who haven't really tried.
Honestly, i really believe you can get ahead if you try hard enough. I worked
60 hours a week through high school to go to college and i really hate to say
this because i don't want to sound racist, but if i was a minority, i probably
wouldn't have had to because i could have gotten a scholarship. You all know
it's true. I seriously have nothing against minorities. But i do have
something against people who won't work or at least try to make their lives
better. Welfare has its uses, but it is not a lon
