Good point, your right. Monks are not some type of superhumans without earthly desires and needs. They are ordinary people who try to devote themselves to god as fully as they possibly can. The point is that a monk is only human and no human being can be completely perfect. That is the thing that I think most people don't realize. Most people regard priests(who we more commonly interact with)and monks as something to put on a petestal and worship as if they themselves were godlike instead of only just the voluntary servants of god. Just because they are devout does not mean that they are above other people. They can also sin and go to hell like everyone else. Just because they serve god does not mean that they have a free ticket to heaven. If anything they have to work harder than the average person to follow all of the rules correctly. The more you know about the faith the harder it is to do everything required.(or so my priest says)
