Be sure to review
the guidelines for writing self commentaries.
You will need to send or bring
me a self commentary by our exam time of Wednesday,
December 19 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. See the section
below for more on the submitting the final versions of the Client
Project.
For your convenience,
here is a clickable list of locations
for the class's client projects.
The following timeline
explains how we will workshop our Client Projects on Wednesday, December
12. The plan depends on your knowing who is and isn't on your assigned
"team," which is either the Red
Team or the Green Team.
By Monday, December 10 at 6 p.m.,
post an e-mail to the entire class via our class
alias with 1) the URL of your Client Project
Web site, and 2) the text of your Client Project
Proposal pasted into the body of the e-mail message. The subject line
(or title) of your e-mail should include the numbers "5230"
to help all of us spot these messages among all the others here at the
end of the semester!
Before class time on Wednesday, December 12,
prepare written responses and suggestions for the projects/proposals done
by classmates who are not on your team.
Be sure your name appears on your responses. You do not need to print
out all the proposals.
In class Wednesday,
December 12 we'll have a "Visiting Day."
From 6:10 to 6:45, members of the Red Team will sit at their
computers being hosts, while the Green Team members walk around as "visitors."
The visitors (Green Team) will be responsible for conferencing with
one member of the Red Team team every ten minutes to discuss their responses,
the proposal, the project, future plans, managing client relations,
etc. etc. Keep the focus on the hosts' project, not the visitor's.
It's okay if a host has more than one visitor, but try to make sure
that no one is being left out! Every ten minutes, I will announce the
time to change and the visiting Green Team members will move along to
conference with another Red Team host.
From 6:50 to 7:25, the Green Team will sit down and play hosts
and the Red Team will circulate around as visitors. Again, visitors
should plan on spending 10 minutes with each host.
From 7:25 to 7:45, We'll have an open period where you can conference
with members of your own team, or go back to complete a discussion that
needed to go longer than 10 minutes.
On or before our scheduled exam time of Wednesday,
December 19 (from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.), post the final version
of your Client Project and send me
an e-mail announcement of its availability. If it's at the same
URL as before, you don't need to include the Web address. Also, send
the text of your self commentary pasted
into the body of that e-mail. If you'd like to come visit me, I'll be
in our classroom during the exam time above.
