The Transportation Data Research Laboratory (TDRL), located in Duluth, Minnesota, is an independent university research laboratory, in part sponsored by the Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) and the University of Minnesota Duluth (College of Science and Engineering). TDRL's research focuses on all issues related to dealing with large scaled transportation data, which include efficient archival strategies, data processing algorithms for large-scaled ITS data, data quality management, efficient sharing of data, and developments of data visualization and analysis tools. TDRL manages a Data Center that collects and houses Mn/DOT's state-level ITS transportation data and provides on line data resources to Mn/DOT and University researchers.
