Safety & Transportation Wheel

Definition:

This category describes how the population moves in, out and within the boundaries, as well as safety issues for the population.

Essential Data:

Includes protective services (fire, police, and sanitation) and private and public transportation.

 

Examples of Questions:   
  1. What are the most common crimes?
  2. Is there a 911 service?
  3. How many ambulances are in the community?
  4. What is the level of training for the first responders?
  5. Is public transportation available?

In Minnesota, fatal vehicular accidents occur at a higher rate on rural roads than on urban roads.
