- Suppose we call the dictionary-searching process
Dictionary Search for Word W.
- Then we could re-describe it this way:
- Open the dictionary to some page.
- If W is on that page, stop.
- Otherwise, determine which part of the
dictionary, left or right of the current page, W is in.
- If W is in the left part, do a
Dictionary Search for W on the left part.
- Otherwise, do a Dictionary Search for W
on the right part.
