(A) Jorge does not destroy Aristotle's "Second Poetics," becuase he deeply respects the man. Aristotle's teachings hold a heavy weight in Christianty. In fact, during the Middle Ages he was commonly refered to as "the Philosopher." Thomas Aquinas, a very well know Christain Philosopher, basically just rewords Aristotle's teachings. Jorge recognized the "authority" of Aristotle; even though he disagred with him on comedy, he was still hesitant to throw his work away.
(B) Comedy and laughter question authority. To parahrase Jorge: People start to laugh at God, they then cease to fear him, and then Satan has free reign. Since Medieval society is based around authority, anything that questions authority is threat to the soical system. Jorge viewd laughter and comedy as this threat, and wanted to prevent it.
