I have to agree with you in that we did break our word (or maybe we never have had the intention of keeping it). As for people coming in and taking their land? It wasn't their land for the indians believe that nobody owns the land and some indians were willing to live in peace. The problem was that the europens had different ideas about that. They were self-absorbed with their new independence and became greedy. They were starting to do the exact things that they were fleeing for in the first place.
If you think about it was the cultures of the many people(indians and europens alike) who inhabit the land at the time, that combine to make this new culture and nation we live in. The United States.
