This post is in regard to Tuesdays class and the video on Galilieo.

How stubborn is the Catholic church that it takes them 300+ years to admit that
they were wrong? Would it have been better if they had pardoned him earlier, or
not at all?

So does that mean that until last year, they completely believed that the Sun
revolved around the Earth?

Or was their list of people to pardon that long?

Or was their system or pardons too busy with typical bureaucratic tape that
they're 300 years behind? Surely there must be some more efficient way to run
one of the most popular religions.

Did they think Galileo was just a pesky nusiance? Or were they horrified that
that he would shake the foundations of science? Did they really think they were
right, or did they just want to look powerful?

What could possibly be their excuse for waiting so long?
