After being in this class for over half a quarter now and reading Machiavelli I am really surprised in how much it is still used in reference to modern times. On numerous occasions I have been reading things, mostly newer literature, that have either alluded to his ideas or used reference to him. Some of what we today think of as great American Literature include reference or mention of his work. I think this just shows us that even in our modern times our new ideas are still compared to those in works as old as Machiavelli's. I am glad to have read the book because now it has more meaning to me than just a name I reconize in reference.
