I think that Christmas becoming a commercialized holiday was something that a lot of people have noticed and it's something a lot of us have noticed before. While we may attend Christmas services or have a manger scene in our front yard behind all the reindeer, does that make the celebration all about religion and the birth of Christ? I don't think Christmas is supposed to be totally a religious holiday. I know this may sound odd to some people because Christmas is actually the most important religious holiday and basically the foundation of the Christian religion. I think our celebrating with freinds and family we rarely see is all about celebrating our life on Earth, and that is what Christmas is about. We must remember who gave us our life, and attending Christmas services is important to many, but inherently all of our joy and gift giving comes back to the reason we're all together-the birth of Chirst is being celebrated. Businesses may take advantage of our holiday weaknesses, and Santa Claus may be seen more than Jesus on TV in cartoons and such, but it's just appealing to the kids and it all adds to the joyousness of the season. Christmas is my favorite holiday, and always has been. We just need to remember what the day is for, and then enjoy the time with our families
