: I agree with you guys totally. This year I worked in retail for the first time. I was hired in October specifically to work during the holidays. I noticed that before Halloween was even over the Christmas decorations were up in the mall and people were going nuts trying to find the perfect gift for everybody. Most of the talk in the mall from Thanksgiving till New Years was about what stores were having the best sales and how much and what people were buying eachother. It made me sick. Thanksgiving is even ruined by the preparation for Christmas. People barely finish washing the Thanksgiving dishes and they are out shopping for presents. Finally after weeks of frantic spending Christmas comes and is over in 24 hours. It seems all people care about is getting their gifts and stuffing their faces, and then the next day it is back to the mall to return or exchange the gifts that were not good enough. Granted we all enjoy buying gifts for others and receiving gifts, but people just go way over board. Afterall the tradition of gift giving is in rememberance of the gifts Jesus received from the three wise men, but that seems to be all Christmas is about anymore. Now everybody has forgotten what they got for Christmas and they are thinking of the next holiday, and I am out of a job!
