Having read Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, the Introductory Note, Author's Preface, Act I of Percy Shelley's Prometheus Unbound and viewing Mary Shellley's Frankenstein you will be assigned to groups of three or four to discuss questions such as those set forth below, or others that you feel would help us understand the reasons why the myth of Frankenstein and the myth of Prometheus grow out a long tradition of attempts by those in authority to suppress dissenting views and an equally problematic attempt to explore the question of whether there are some limits to what man can or should know. Based on your group discussion write a commentary that addresses these questions or others that emerge in your group's discussion.
There is only one formal requirement for your commentary.
It must begin with a general proposition
(statement, thesis) which you are seeking to support in your
commentary.
