Tudor day at school!!!!........

At school we had Tudor Day! The Tudors were people who lived in England in the 15th and 16th century.

Well, at school, we talked about farm life first. A funny thing that happened was: "So they sailed into the harbor," said the farmer.

"Cadiz," muttered the Priest.

"What?" asked the farmer.

"Cadiz. O K? Cadiz, Cadiz. The name of the harbor was Cadiz," said the Priest.

"O K. So they sailed into Cadiz Cadiz," said the farmer.(!)

"No, no," said the Priest. "1 Cadiz, O K?"

"O K. So they sailed into 1 Cadiz," said the farmer.(!)

"No, no," said the Priest yet again. "1 Cadiz, Cadiz. Cadiz," said the Priest.

"O K. So they sailed into Cadiz. And..." said the farmer, but he was interrupted by the Priest.

"They can all go to school," said the Priest.

"But....." said the farmer. But it was no good.

Then, we divided into 3 groups. I went to the farmer's group first. There the farmer told us he was going to teach us games instead of school because he thought today was a holiday! One I can remember was Shuffleboard. It was a board that had lots of lines on it. On the top there was a line that went up and over a cross. You would flick a coin up the board. Each space was worth 1 point more than the one behind it. The first one was worth 1. The top one with the cross was worth 13. But if you went off the board or beyond the top one you have 0 points.

Then we went to the Priest's group. We learned how to do Tudor writing. Do you want me to write my name? Well, it's so... complicated, This computer can't make it!

Then we went to the farmer's wife's group. She told us all... about the uses of all... kinds of plants.

Then we had recess. It was, (as you might think) an ordinary recess.

When we (the whole class) came back in, the sheriff was standing there. He told us all about British armour. Then we found out if 3 criminals were guilty or inoccent. The sheriff kept out bursting!

Once we did that, someone pretended to be the wise woman and cured lots of people. I was one who was cured!

Then we tried dancing. We weren't very good at it. Then, (finally) we went home.

(This is not my house, but it is a good example of a Tudor house. It's called Greyfriars.)
