• Time and dates of the internship with the professional theatre do not have to be concurrent with the semester the student is enrolled.
• TH 5997 is a non-graded, S-N, course which will not effect the student's overall GPA.
• Students interested in receiving credit for TH 5997 are required to develop a syllabus for their internship.
• For each credit of TH 5997, the student will work 40 hours under the direct supervision of a member of the professional theatre company identified in the syllabus.
• The student is eligible for up to a maximum of 12 credits.
• The student is required to keep a journal (often in the form of an email to their facualty adviser) documenting their experience during the internship. Journal entries should be made at least once a week, detailing the work accomplished and the number of hours worked.
• At the end of the internship, a hard copy of the journal may be submitted to the academic adviser. Electronic entries in the form of emails are also accepted. The academic adviser will keep all electronic journal submissions until the internship is completed.
• At the end of the internship, the student's immediate supervisor during the internship will provide a one page, ungraded assessment of the student's work.
• The student will write a one page self-assessment of their experience during the internship.
• Printed copies of the journal, supervisor assessment, and self-assessment are submitted to the academic advisor after the internship is completed.
