Student Learning Outcomes:

1. Examine light as a creative medium.
2. Develop a methodology for playscript analysis from a lighting design point of view.
3. Demonstrate lighting concepts through light labs, storyboards, and graphic presentations.
4. Create a light plot.
5. Develop appropriate paperwork necessary to execute theatrical lighting designs.

Grading Policy:

Late projects are not accepted. Any project submitted late will recieve a grade of 0. Demonstrated progress, made evident during class work periods, may qualify the project for late penalty waiver.

All assignments are to be submitted as hard paper copies. Assignments submitted electronically will be lowered one full letter grade per assignment.

Note: Individuals who have any disability, either permanent or temporary, which might affect their ability to perform in this class are encouraged to inform the instructor at the start of the quarter. Adaptations of methods, materials or testing may be made as required to provide for equitable participation.
