Selectors
The information in this section on selectors was designed to make a person think very hard about document structure and selector behavior. This is necessary, as painful as it may be to enable a developer to visualize a document's structure mentally and determine what selectors can be used to address parts of it. The goal was to gain a solid understanding of selectors.
Many of the selectors covered here will not work in some browsers. Usually the browser that has the best support is Mozilla 0.9x (Netscape 6.2.x), but not always.
