Ups and downs of living in Duluth, MN:

Some good things about living in Duluth as a student is more apparent when your a freshmen than anything else. Being a freshmen, most of them live in the dorm rooms, and all of them are connected by the tunnel system. Basically if you do not have to be concerned about never seeing your friends because you are so close anyways. It can be good and bad thing though, good since it is not that much of a walk, but bad as it makes the school feel a lot smaller than what it actually is. Another tough spot that seems to be for a student is the weather and terrain makes it difficult for students that want an off campus job. Also the Dining Center deserves some mention as too many people are in love or hate relationship with it. But there are other options to eat from too like the food court. What is neat for a student though is the smaller classrooms. There seems to be no benefit at all in having a class of more than one hundred people for a lecture so it is very nice then that Duluth is not too loaded with large classrooms. Also good thing about living in dorms is that Dominos is like two blocks down.

Something really cool about living in Duluth are all the awesome opportunities to participate in outdoor activities. Snowboarding, skiing, surfing, swimming, hunting, fishing, hiking, whatever you want to do, you can do it in Duluth. And all you have to do is go outside! There are some awesome hiking trails to check out. Some of them even have waterfalls and awesome streams that eventually flow into beautiful Lake Superior. An awesome place to check out is Spirit Mountain. At Spirit Mountain you can snowboard and ski to your heart's content. I will definitely be checking out Spirit Moutain once winter strikes. I go down and visit the lake every single day. I clamber around on the rocks and stuff. It is awesome, I am in love with it. Every season is beautiful here with many outdoor activities to do. Summer is beautiful for swimming, fall is perfect for hiking, winter is perfect for snowboarding and skiing, and spring is perfect for whatever you want to do. If you love outdoor activities, come live in Duluth. The best things in life are free and we have them all at our fingertips here! It costs money to go to Spirit Mountain...not to dampen your spirits...but it's worth it.
