Softening the BordersThe borders between images and text are typically characterized by sharp lines and corners. These borders strictly separate "writing space" from "visual space," carving up Web pages into these distinct zones that have nothing to do with differences in meaning.
An alterative is to use "borderless" images like the "Winter Welcome" Guy above. You can also put images into text like this to create headings that operate in both writing space and visual space simultaneously.
