New! UMD Maroon and Gold Street Signs
Duluth and campus community welcome to attend event
New street signs with snazzy colors and a Bulldog emblem will help guide drivers on and around campus. A planned unveiling will take place at 6 pm on Tuesday, October 16 at UMD's Ordean Court. Members of the UMD Student Association will present the university-themed signs. The ceremony will be attended by Mayor Don Ness, as well as donors and supporters of the university.
"The news signs are not only great for the campus atmosphere," said Mayor Ness, "but for the community as well. They seamlessly connect the city with the university in a fun and unique way."
This event is free and open to the public. In case of inclement weather, the unveiling will take place in the lobby of the UMD Marshall Performing Arts Center.
After the street sign presentation, attendees are welcome to stay and cheer on athletes and other competitors in the annual "Dogs Eat Dogs" hot dog eating contest accompanied by KUMD and the UMD Marching Band. These events are also located at Ordean Court, and scheduled to take place before the 7 pm women's volleyball game against St. Cloud State in the UMD Romano Gym.
