UMD Bulldog Welcome Week 2011
UMD Doctoral Students
On Thursday, September 1, from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Bulldog Welcome Week begins with students moving in on campus. UMD Chancellor Lendley C. "Lynn" Black will be greeting students and parents in front of the Lake Superior Hall.
UMD staff and administrators will also assist students with moving into the residence halls. Throughout the day, family and student activities are scheduled that focus on financial aid assistance, student policies, and the transition to college for both parents and students.
For Friday, September 2, from 12:45 – 1 p.m., faculty and staff will line up to form the Welcome Tunnel through Ordean Court into the Romano Gymnasium. The visual welcome, with deans, vice chancellors, staff, and faculty clapping and cheering on the freshman, will kick off the Chancellor's Welcome & Convocation with the Chancellor speaking at 1 p.m.
The Bulldog Welcome Week activities continue through the first week of classes. New freshman students are required to attend the Bulldog Welcome Week events starting on Friday, September 2, continuing through September 5.
