The UMD Labovitz School of Business and Economics will host its annual Professor for a Day event on Monday, November 16, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Weber Music Hall. This year's speaker will be Four-Star United States Air Force General Bruce Carlson. General Carlson is a native of Hibbing, Minnesota and a 1971 graduate of the UMD Labovitz School of Business and Economics. He will be speaking on "Leadership Ethics in Today's Global Economy".
The event is free and the public is cordially invited. Refreshments will be served prior to the presentation at 9:30 a.m. in the Weber Music Hall Lobby.
General Carlson is a distinguished graduate of the UMD Air Force ROTC program. He served as Commander of the Air Force Materiel Command at Wright-Patterson SFB in Ohio where he received the 2007 Order of the Sword distinction. He recently came out of retirement upon request by Secretary of Defense Robert Gates to lead the National Reconnaissance Office in Chantilly, Virginia. General Carlson will share his knowledge of working with civilian, corporate and military organizations in the United States and throughout the world.
This marks the tenth year of the Professor for the Day event by the UMD Labovitz School of Business and Economics.
