Manley Goldfine, long-time Duluth entrepreneur and civic leader, will be the guest speaker at the UMD Labovitz School of Business and Economics "Professor for a Day" event set for November 1, at 10 a.m. in the UMD Weber Music Hall. The event is free and the public is cordially invited. Refreshments will be available prior to the presentation, at 9:30 a.m. in the Weber Music Hall lobby.
The title of Mr. Goldfine's speech is "The Harder I Work, the Luckier I Get: Seventy Years of Business, Success (and Failure)," in which he will present insights and comments of his long and successful business career.
Mr. Goldfine has recently retired as CEO of ZMC Hotels. The hotel chain currently operates 30 motels in 12 states, including the recently opened Edgewater Resort and Waterpark in Duluth.
This is the seventh year of the "Professor for a Day" event, sponsored by the Labovitz School of Business and Economics.
