The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) will conduct its thirteenth annual "Nightwalk for Campus Safety", Monday, November 7, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The purpose of the "Nightwalk" is for the UMD community (students, faculty and staff) to walk together through the campus looking for any opportunities to enhance and improve safety on the UMD campus.
The "Nightwalkers" will cover all outside (and several inside) areas of the campus. Walkers are invited to meet inside at the Kirby Bus Hub, at 6 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to wear clothing appropriate for walking outside and to bring a flashlight (just in case). UMD neighbors are cordially invited to join the walk.
Campus safety recommendation forms will be made available that evening and will be collected following the walk. Each participant will be asked to complete a recommendation form listing any areas of possible safety improvement. Recommendations may also be sent to:
UMD Department of Finance and Operations
500 Darland Administration Building
1049 University Drive
Duluth, Minnesota 55812
All recommendations are due by Monday, November 14, 2005.
Written comments will be used by the UMD Department of Finance and Operations and the UMD Safety, Health and Emergency Preparedness Advisory Committee to make plans for campus improvements.
