Dr. Rajiv Vaidyanathan, Associate Professor of Marketing at UMD's Labovitz School of Business & Economics was named one of the recipients of the 2005 Hormel Meritorious Teaching Award by the Marketing Management Association.
The 3rd Annual Marketing Management Association Teaching Awards Competition is a national contest sponsored by Hormel Foods. The Association invited nominations for the top marketing teachers from across the country. From a total of 34 nominations, Dr. Vaidyanathan was one of seven professors selected by a blue ribbon panel of judges as a winner of the 2005 Hormel Meritorious Teaching Award.
Dr. Vaidyanathan will be recognized at the 2005 Marketing Management Association Spring Conference in Chicago. According to Dr. Jon M. Hawes, the 2005 Coordinator of Teaching Awards for the MMA, "Having such an outstanding pool of applicants make these awards even more meaningful."
Dr. Vaidyanathan has taught marketing at UMD's Labovitz School of Business & Economics since 1993. Since 2002, he has also been the Director of the School's MBA programs in Duluth and Rochester. He received his doctorate from Washington State University.
