Eight UMD Students Named
The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) has announced the recipients of the 2004-2005 FinnFest USA '92 Scholarships. A total of eight students were named.

The FinnFest USA '92 Scholarship was established from the nearly $50,000 raised at FinnFest USA in July 1992. Since then, this organization has awarded 85 scholarships to outstanding UMD students.
New scholarship applicants are currently being sought.

The deadline for submission of completed applications is Monday, April
18, 2005.
FinnFest Scholarships are awarded to junior, senior, or graduate level students. Candidates must be enrolled full time at UMD (as of fall 2005) and must be able to demonstrate financial need, i.e., have FAFSA papers on file. GPA will also be considered. Transfer students may also apply. Preference will be given to students of Finnish heritage and those from NE Minnesota or NW Wisconsin. An "unofficial" transcript must accompany all applications.
