The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) will hold a panel discussion:
"Gay Marriage and the Modern American Family"
April 14
7 p.m.
Solon Campus Center room 120
The panel will discuss issues of and surrounding same-sex marriage, not whether or not the unions are right or wrong. The group will provide a context for what is marriage and family, with historical and personal perspectives and real-life experiences.
Participating in the discussion will be Earl Austin from the Northland Gay Men's Center; Larry Knopp from the UMD Geography Department; Ashley Lundstrom, a UMD student; Bruce Mork from the UMD Sociology-Anthropology Department; Beth Olson, a gay parent; and Tom Powers from the UMD Political Science Department as the panel's moderator.
The event is free and the public is welcome.
