"Asthma Attack! Why Can't I Breathe?"

The School of Medicine, Duluth will hold another in its series of "DocTalks" lectures. Jean F. Regal, Ph.D., professor in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department at the School of Medicine, Duluth will present "Asthma Attack! Why Can't I Breathe?" April 13 at 7:30 p.m. in room 142 of the School of Medicine, Duluth.
Asthma is a chronic lung disease that affects approximately 15 million people. In Minnesota, 7% of adults report that they currently have asthma, and that number is on the rise, especially in children. Dr. Regal will describe basic immune mechanisms of asthma and how the current drug treatments work. In addition, she will discuss current theories explaining the increased incidence of the disease.
Dr. Regal is a member of the American Association of Immunologists and the American Thoracic Society. She conducts research on asthma at the School of Medicine, Duluth.
The event is free and the public is cordially invited.
"Doc Talks" are held the second Tuesday of every month (September-April)
