The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) has announced the winners of the 2002 2003 FinnFest '92 Scholarships. A total of nine students were named.

Katrina E. Erickson: Cohasset, MN
Jamie Lynn Niskala: Ely, MN
Elizabeth D. Heikkila: Brainerd, MN
Derek D. Nyberg: Cromwell, MN
Matthew J. Hill: Phelps, WI
Kim M. Smith: Duluth, MN
Abby I. Kovala: Osage, MN
Krista L. Toumi: Duluth, MN
The FinnFest '92 Scholarship Program was established from the nearly $50,000 raised at FinnFest USA in July of 1992. Since then, this organization has awarded 62 of these scholarships to outstanding University if Minnesota Duluth (UMD) students for their study either on campus or abroad.
FinnFest Scholarships are awarded to junior, senior, or graduate level students. Candidates must be enrolled full time at UMD and be in good academic standing. Transfer students may also apply. Preference will be given to students of Finnish heritage and those from NE Minnesota or NW Wisconsin. Applications are invited.
