Chuck Carter, internationally known game designer and animator will present a lecture about his art on November 6 at 2 p.m. in the UMD Tweed Museum of Art.
He will make a second presentation (on the technical aspects of his craft) on November 7 at 10 a.m. in the UMD Kirby Student Center Bullpub (2nd floor). Light refreshments will be served.
Chuck Carter is a renowned independent Interactive Game Designer. He was responsible for the art, animation and design of the "three worlds" in the game Myst. He oversaw video productions for Tiberian Sun, Red Alert 2, Yuri's Revenge and Dune:Emperor. He worked with the National Geographic Society on the creation of their first website.
The software he uses and will discuss includes: Lightwave, Maya, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Combustion, UltiMatte, Illusion, Bryce, Painter, formZ, Electric Image, ToonBoom Studio, Final Cut Pro, Flash and Max 4.
Carter studied at the Philadelphia School of Art and Cleveland Institute of Art.
