UMD will hold its tenth annual "Nightwalk" for Campus Safety Monday, October 28, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Members of the public are invited to join UMD students, faculty and staff along with neighborhood residents to walk the campus looking for areas of safety improvements and monitoring. The purpose of the "Nightwalk" is to walk together, covering all outside (and several inside) areas of the campus.
Everyone is asked to meet inside Kirby Student Center, near the Information Desk, at 6 p.m. Walkers are encouraged to wear clothing appropriate for walking outside and to bring a flashlight.
Campus safety recommendation forms will be made available that evening and will be collected following the walk. Each participant will be asked to complete a recommendation form listing any areas of possible safety improvement.
Recommendations may also be sent to UMD Department of Finance and Operations, 500 Darland Administration Building, by Monday, November 4, 2002.
Comments will be used by Finance and Operations and the UMD Safety, Health and Emergency Preparedness Advisory Committee to make plans for campus improvements.
