Dr. Caro is currently a chemist with the French National Center for Scientific Research (the CNRS). From 1989 to 1999 he served as delegate to the Office of Scientific Affairs at the City of Sciences & Industry in Paris
He has written a monthly column for the Sunday edition of the French newspaper LeMonde, hosted a prime-time French television show, hosted over 200 French radio shows, and written popular books on science.
While visiting UMD, Dr. Caro will speak to classes in a variety of fields including history, science, technology and education. He will also be the featured speaker for the UMD Chemistry Undergraduate Symposium and the Chemistry Students Honors Luncheon.
In the Duluth area community, Dr. Carol will present the capstone lecture in the winter lecture series at the Great Lakes Aquarium on April 5 at 6 p.m. The title of his speech will be "The Role of Education in Science Museums".
