Marking a record high freshman enrollment and the largest total enrollment ever , UMD kicks off "Bulldog Bash 2001" with "Student Move-In Days" on Friday, August 31 and Saturday, September 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The official "Chancellor's Welcome Team" comprised of UMD Chancellor Kathryn A. Martin, along with vice chancellors, deans, professors and staff, will be on hand to "fetch and carry "as students move into their campus residence halls. In addition to moving chores, the "Chancellor's Welcome Team" will also work the two food tents, greet parents, answer questions and visit with students. All will be wearing special Welcome Team t-shirts.
"Student Move-in Days" kicks off "Bulldog Bash 2001", a 4-day series of campus events ranging from convocations and advisement to football, barbecues and entertainment. (Complete schedule is attached).
This Fall UMD has enrolled a record number of freshman totaling 2,165. Fall 2001 projected total enrollment stands at 9,500. That is up from the Fall 2000 number of 9,087.
