Cultures are always changing and no culture represents the whole of an individual (Johnson, 45). While any given individual may show characteristics of a particular culture, every person is different and develops his or her own personality. Therefore, it is important for health care providers to maintain a broad view of the term "culture" while at the same time being sensitive enough to recognize differences and similarities among people for which the practitioner provides care. |
