Marvin Harris in the concluding section of Cows, Pigs, Wars, and Witches says:
"Disdain of reason, evidence and objectivity -- superconsciousness and its heady freedom of belief-- are steadily stripping an entire generation of the intellectual means of resisting the next call for a final and decisive struggle to achieve redemption and salvation on a cosmic scale."
This represents a judgement on the sixties generation. Agree or disagree with Harris. In writing your answer refer to at least five of the books you read for this course. Tom Wolfe's Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test must be one of the books you refer to in giving your answer. You may find this comparison of Romanticism and Classicism useful in responding to Harris's statement.
