PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS - ORISE SPONSOR: Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) PURPOSE: To support opportunities to participate in energy-related research. DEADLINE: February 15, June 1, October 1 SUMMARY: There are three internship programs below at different locations. All three are based on energy-related research. The first deals with fossil energy. The second is a broad energy-related base while the third combines energy-related research with environmental issues. ********************************************************************* Professional Internship Program at the Federal Energy Technology Centers - ORISE PURPOSE: To support opportunities to participate in fossil energy- related research. SUMMARY: The participating disciplines of fossil energy-related research are: chemistry, computer science, engineering, environmental sciences, geology, mathematics, physics, statistics. Eligibility/participants: undergraduate students, postbaccalaureates, graduate students; U.S. citizens Location(s): Federal Energy Technology Center (Pittsburgh, Pa., and Morgantown, W.Va.) Duration: 3 to 18 consecutive months; full-time or part-time appointments Frequency of awards: continuing Awards made: number varies Deadline(s): February 15, June 1, October 1 Benefits: weekly stipend of $260 to $350; limited travel reimbursement (round-trip transportation expenses between facility and home or campus); off-campus tuition and fees if required by the home institution Funding source(s): U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Fossil Energy, through the Federal Energy Technology Center ********************************************************************* Professional Internship Program at Oak Ridge Technology Center - ORISE PURPOSE: To support opportunities for students to participate in energy-related research. SUMMARY: The participating disciplines of energy-related research are: chemistry, environmental sciences, geology, hydrogeology, hydrology; chemical engineering, civil engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering; computer sciences (technical database development).
