Stage Manager Interview

1. Choose a topic. Pick a topic concerning stage management that is of interest to you and submit it in writing to the instructor by the due date listed on the syllabus.

2. Contact stage managers. Using the list provided, incorporate the comments of 3-5 professional stage managers that you've contacted via email. You will likely have to ask more than 3-5 stage managers to comment on the topic you've chosen for your presentation. Some specifics to keep in mind:

• Keep questions as specific as possible. Requests that require lengthy replies may go unanswered.
• Introduce yourself and explain how much experience you have as a stage manager. Knowing how much you know will help them reply accordingly.
• Mention that you are contacting them as part of this course. Most likely, they get lots of email and a gentle reminder that you are involved with a group they have agreed to work with might help get a quality response.

3. Present to the class. 15 minute presentation using visual projections for the class discussing information gathered on the chosen topic.
