Read these two articles (pubmed ids 11057666 and 16133658). You may wish to find the Nucleotide entry AF166093 on NCBI to study it through Blast and other tools (multiple alignments for example). Be prepared by the 18th to argue in support of the findings of these papers; you are strongly encouraged to read from other sources as well.

Read these two articles (pubmed ids 11371604 and 11734907). Try to verify some of the bioinformatic claims in these papers. Be prepared by the 18th to argue in support of the positions expressed in them; you are strongly encouraged to read from other sources as well.
- Group 3: Shane, Noland, Alayna, Doug.
Read these two articles (pubmed ids 15875564 and 15164240). Be prepared by the 18th to have some background on ancient DNA studies and controversies; your task will be to evaluate the arguments presented by the previous groups and judge the evidence as best you can by the 20th. You are strongly encouraged to read from other sources in addition to those given here.
