My Background

I graduated from South Shore High School in Port Wing, Wisconsin in 1983. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire in the fall of 1987 with a B.S. in physics and mathematics. During this time at Eau Claire I ran on the cross country and track teams each year. In the spring of 87 I started on my M.S. in physics here at the University of Minnesota- Duluth. I finished in the spring of 1990.

From the fall of 1990 until the spring of 1998 I taught high school physics, chemistry, and physical science at The Marshall School (a private high school here in Duluth). During this time I helped coach some cross country, basketball, and track. I also taught evening math classes at Lake Superior College.

I taught my first class at UMD in the fall of 97. The following year (fall 98) I started instructing physics full time here at the University. During my time at UMD I have instructed the conceptual physics class, the college physics (algebra based) classes, and the general physics (calculus based) classes.
