North By North: Music and Arts Experiences

Visual Arts Celebration at Tweed

May has been declared Art month and it has been officially named North by North: Music and Art Experiences by Twin Ports Arts Align group. Visual Arts Week will be held from May 6 through May 10. Tweed has joined efforts with several local art organizations in the Twin Ports community to participate in this inspiring celebration of the arts. LSC will be the first venue to host a special event; Tweed Museum will be the second organization to host a special event on site, at the museum. It'll be an excellent opportunity to browse the works from our landscapes exhibition and the Annual Student Exhibition, and other works currently on view.

Tweeds event will be Tuesday, May 7, 2013 from 4 to 8pm.

The event will feature UMD students demonstrating wheel throwing, animation talk and demonstration by Brian Barber, music and singing by UMD students, chocolate tasting with Heidi Ash's decadent creation from 185Chocolat, LLC. Barbara Boo, invited some local artists to create a mini market to shop for special hand-made gifts. Light refreshments will be served during the event.

The event is open free and we welcome the public and the students.
