The Tweed Museum of Art, University of Minnesota Duluth, is pleased to announce the opening of a new exhibition, Craig Blacklock-Selections from A Voice Within-Lake Superiors Nudes and Horizon Series. Craig Blacklock is well known for his masterfully composed photographs of Lake Superior and the Landscape fo the Northland. In this exhibition, the acclaimed photographer presents two more-recent, and less well-known bodies of work. Photographs from the A Voice Within series are printed in rich sepia tone, and explore a relationship between the nude human figure and the landscape. The Horizon Series focuses on a single element of the Lake Superior landscape (one which so captivated the late painter George Morrison), to create large-scale color photographs which approach abstraction in their use of color, light and atmosphere. |
