Congratulations & Thank You Charlie Matsch!

New member of the Society of Prometheans!

Charlie Matsch has provided support and inspiration to the Tweed Museum of Art.

He has selflessly introduced ideas and artists, provided artwork and annual gifts, established an endowment for exhibitions, and has been a long-time presence having attended numerous programs over the course of many years.

Beyond the material gifts that Charlie has given the Museum is his influence. He is known as an expert in Geology, informed by an appreciation of nature and its powers, having engaged generations of students with his passion for reading the evidence of an endlessly diverse and evolving landscape. To the staff at the Tweed he represents an even wider scope of knowledge. He has shared his passion and awe for the phenomena of the world fully inclusive of the aesthetics of the natural world and the arts of humanity.

Charlie Matsch has fostered an appreciation for arts that intelligently represent the natural world, thereby helping to bridge the Arts and Sciences, has helped to expand the Museum collection. He has put action behind his expansive vision to build a legacy for life-long learning in the Arts and Sciences that will last.
