Appraisals

Staff at the Museum do not appraise objects. Depending upon the object we have worked with several appraisers over the years. In the Duluth area, Florence Collins of Heritage Appraisals (218-525-6154) is an appraiser we have worked with, and Florence is presently a member of the Museum's Advisory Board.

Peter Spooner has been a curator at the Tweed Museum of Art in the past and has an extensive background knowledge in art. He resides in Duluth and recently earned his certification to provide appraisals. Please contact Peter Spooner at pspooner282@gmail.com or call at (218) 390-3064.

Joan Caballero of Joan Caballero Appraisals in Santa Fe (505-982-8148; email: joancaballero@msn.com) is another appraiser we have worked extensively with in recent years. There was also a gallery in the Cities that Museum staff worked with but they no longer do appraisals, but they did refer us to Bonnie at Appraisal Specialists Midwest (952-926-0225). Otherwise, there is a professional organization of appraisers, International Society of Appraisers (http://www.isa-appraisers.org/), that can assist in locating an appraiser
