Ianni Hall

Ianni Hall opened in fall 2011 and is the first residence hall on the UMD campus to earn LEED certification, LEED Silver.

Outside of Ianni Hall

Ianni Hall is named after Lawrence A. Ianni, who served as chancellor of UMD from 1987 to 1995. The building is the first residence hall at UMD to achieve LEED certification.

The rocks used to build the fireplace in the lounge were collected along the North Shore from Silver Bay to Grand Marais.
