Interested in becoming a CITS student?

By enrolling in UMD CITS you will receive a UMD transcript upon successful completion of course(s) as well as: 

UMD credit for college coursework at their high schools

Not planning on attending UMD? 

UMD CITS program has a successful credit transfer rate of 95% to other higher education institutions (based on responses to annual CITS surveys)

Attend UMD courses taught by outstanding high school teachers and special presentations by UMD faculty

Access UMD student email, Internet, and UMD computer networks

Access UMD and CITS website resources, including special event calendars and e-forms

Receive UMD undergraduate student status and UMD U Card and receive student discounts

Access UMD state-of-the-art library, including online resources, databases, software, and interlibrary loan

Visit the UMD campus to develop a connection to a four-year university and to UMD faculty

Experience college-level, rigorous course expectations: CITS courses use UMD syllabi, textbooks, assessments, grading rubrics, and examinations

UMD Student Study Skills Assessment

Be a high school Junior or Senior

Possess a 3.0 overall GPA; or

Complete a Course Permission Form approved and signed by their CITS teacher. UMD makes the final determination on student eligibility.

*Note: UMD CITS credit cannot be earned by independent study coursework.
