Transfer Student Connect Program (TSC)

Want to Participate in the TSC Program?

Incoming transfer students are encouraged to participate in the TSC program their first semester on campus. Why should you participant? The #1 reason is so you can get connected with a TSC Mentor, a student who previously transferred to UMD, who can assist you with how things are done at UMD. Other important reasons to participate are:

  • Get help with registration, figuring out classes and a class schedule
  • Learn about campus resources
  • Get answers to your questions
  • Get support for both academic and personal issues
  • Get involved on and off campus
  • Meet current and past transfer students

What is Required for Participation?

As a participant, there is one requirement - meet with your TSC Mentor at least once in the first 3 weeks of your first semester at UMD. Why? We believe meeting at the beginning of the semester sets students up for success and allows you to get responses to your initial questions. Additional in-person meetings are available upon request. TSC Mentors are available to answers your questions through email and other agreed upon methods of communication. For those interested, and we hope you all will be, monthly social events will be offered on and off campus for TSC participants and TSC Mentors.

Remember, as with anything, the more time a person invests, the greater the chance a person is rewarded with enhanced skills, abilities, and completion of goals.
